Today I checked into the hospital for pre bone marrow harvest op blood tests and to meet with the anesthetist. The guy next to me, who’s probably younger than me, is getting prepped for his operation that will take place in 15 minutes. His parents are by his side. I overheard the conversation this morning, the doc said there’s 20-30% chance of failure…..
Why do people always concentrate on the negative 30% and not on the positive 70%? We always look forward to so many nice things that we hope may happen to us, but at critical moments, we take a paradigm shift and be so scared of the happening of the “bad” outcome with a lesser chance rather than peacefully waiting for the result we want.
I hope his operation goes smoothly with success. He has to be so strong, for safety reason he cannot do his op under general anesthesia, when he could just sleep through it… Sending him lots of positive energy!
